GOLDENWAX 464
Golden Wax 464 flake soy wax for candles in jars, made in Sweden by wax giant AAK.
This wax for jar candles offers the same basic formula as the popular Golden Wax 464 made in the USA, but with improved performance. It is a vegetable-based wax that allows you to experience excellent scent diffusion, reduces the risk of frosting compared to the US version of Golden Wax 464, has a very good adhesion to glass, a bright colour and gives you the pleasure of enjoying a beautifully smooth surface in between burns (as opposed to the rough US version).
Golden Wax 464 is also exceptionally forgiving, allowing the wax to be dispensed at higher temperatures and offering a wider range of dispensing temperatures, thus achieving excellent production results.
Made from responsibly sourced soybean oil, European Golden Wax 464 is both non-GMO and vegan, and AAK, known for its strong commitment to sustainability, ensures that this wax is produced with the utmost respect for the environment and for the people involved in its production.
This wax is available in 12.5 kg flake boxes and 25 kg block boxes, which are ideal for saving space, reducing acquisition costs and allowing you to work on larger candle projects.

Production tips
- Recommended wicks - cotton and linen, cotton and hemp, wooden wicks. If you notice a weak or unstable flame, try a different size wick.
- If the surface hardens unevenly, wax at a higher temperature should be dispensed.
- Setting properties: adheres well to the vessel walls. In case of uneven surface stiffness, it can be corrected by a second application of wax as soon as the wax has set or by heating the surface with a hot air gun.
- Melting of the entire surface when burning the candle: this should not happen during the first burn, which would indicate that the wick is too large. Normally the whole surface melts in 3 to 5 burns, and the outermost wax residues melt spontaneously as the vessel heats up.
- Vegetable waxes (soy, coconut, palm, etc.) change their structure (drying, hardening) all the time after bottling, so please be patient and wait at least 10-14 days before testing.
- Experiment with different wax dyes, scents and wicks to create the perfect candle. Each element has a different effect on the quality of the candle.
- Best used within 12 months of the date of manufacture.
Recommended temperature
- It is not recommended to overheat the wax, as the best physical and chemical properties are lost (maximum heating temperature +70°C). Excessive heating may cause cracks in the wax when the candles are removed from the mould. The quality and performance of the candle will remain unchanged, but overheating may affect the aesthetic side of the candle.
- Melting point +43-49°C.
- The optimum scent content in wax is 6-10%. The recommended scent pour temperature is +60-65°C, depending on the scent - all citrus scents are better poured at a lower temperature, while cinnamon, for example, is better poured at a higher temperature.
- The recommended dispensing temperature is +55 - 65°C.
- Wax storage conditions: preferably stored at +24°C or below in a dry and ventilated room. Keep away from extreme conditions, i.e. >+32°C heat and <+5°C.
