1. Choose quality ingredients

The most important step in making bath bombs for your skin is to choose quality ingredients.
It is recommended to buy natural ingredients such as organic oils, natural salts (EPSOM print), essential oils and quality baking soda.

2. Prepare the ingredients

To make bath bubbles/bath bombs you will need 1 cup of baking soda, 1/2 cup of citric acid, 1/2 cup of cornstarch, 1/2 cup of EPSOM salt, 2 tablespoons of cocoa butter (you can use other oils like almond, avocado, etc.) and an essential oil to give it a pleasant smell. Remember that we will be dissolving the bath bubbles/bath bombs in a large bath, so use a little more essential oil to spread the pleasant smell.

For colourful bath bombs/bath bubbles, include cosmetic paints in the composition, various mica paints are ideal.

Mix the dry ingredients (baking soda, citric acid, cornstarch and salt) in a separate bowl with the melted cocoa butter and essential oil.

3. Polysorbate 80 / Polysorbate 80

Polysorbate 80 is the substance responsible for dissolving fat in water.

It is biodegradable, gentle on the skin and non-irritating. It is a surfactant used in many cosmetic products, acting as a solvent, emulsifier, stabiliser or humectant.

Polysorbate 80 has the property of dissolving oil in water. Therefore, when used in the manufacture of bath bubbles/bath bombs, the grease contained in the bubbles/bath bombs will easily dissolve in the water during bathing, and will not settle on the walls of the bath or float on the water surface.

Polysorbate 80 is not a mandatory ingredient in the manufacture of bath bubbles.

4. Combine ingredients and form bath bubbles / vionia bombs

Gradually mix a mixture of cocoa butter and essential oil with the dry ingredients.
Make sure the mixture is smooth and does not clump.
If necessary, you can add a little more coco oil.

Shape bath bubbles/bath bombs: use a special bath bubble mould or simply use your hands to create the shape you want. Press the mixture firmly into the mould, and close it (plastic moulds snap into place). If you use your hands, simply form a ball or any other desired shape.

5. Drying time

Allow the bath bubbles to harden and dry for about 24 hours. Then remove them from the mould.

6. Enjoy bath bombs

Once the bath bubbles are completely dry, they are ready to use.
Throw them in a bath of warm water and watch them emit bubbles, a pleasant smell and colour the water mottled.
Enjoy a pleasant and healthy skincare ritual.

Making bath bombs is not only a pleasant process: store them in decorative jars to decorate your bathroom.
It can also be a great gift for a birthday, Christmas, or for guests at an important event for you.

Your loved ones will be delighted to receive a gift that is not only beautiful, but also healthy.
